ERV™Atlas has recently obtained a Patent for the ERV™ fastener. The ERV™ is a "hybrid" of sorts, bearing a 17/12 diameter, self-drilling fastener that penetrates and taps a metal building's wall girt structure. The fastener generates a resistance of high torque when the #17 diameter thread engages the girt, stopping its installation at a controlled position. This reduces the compression of batt insulation, therefore increasing the integrity of the insulation's R-Value at the fastener location.
The ERV™ is also designed to eliminate dimpling the exterior of the building's metal panel when installed with the proper R-Value insulation. The ERV™ is not intended for attaching roof panels.
